Meleconomic Ants?

The ant is one of God’s smallest creatures and yet God commends them as an example of industriousness. Why is that? Anyone who lives in Florida or Texas has heard of the red fire ant. While they are not creative, they are resourceful. Home owners have tried to exterminate them, but their numbers seem to be growing. Rake down their hill and they will replace it or move it, sometimes in only a few hours. They do a few things over and over: they procreate, gather food, dig dens, bite anyone who gets in their way, and move when they are threatened. They have been doing these things since they were created and will continue to do them.

What do we learn about our business from the ant? We learn that repetitive tasks are necessary. We learn that there is a right time to do things. We learn that we can prosper, even in adversity, when we do the right tasks. We learn that urgent action is our friend.

May our Creator and Savior grant us the industriousness and urgency of the ant when it comes to building and maintaining our businesses.
